New York

Our trip to New York City was wonderful – we were taken with the city that never sleeps. We did all the tourist-y things: top of the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. We also ate good food, played chess in the park, spent a day at the Met [European paintings! oh my!], and walked our little selves to our small, but quiet hotel room every night, falling right into a deep sleep. I wasn’t ready to leave, and find myself missing this lovely city quite often since we’ve left. New York! Hopefully we’ll meet again!

    Dear Ms Sarah Kieffer,

We are a French Literature Publisher, and we will publish, on next April, a novel by Austin Ratner entitled “Garder mes yeux des larmes” (french Title for “In the Land of the Living”); we found on your blog The Vanilla Bean a picture that will be very good to be reproduced our our cover. The picture shows two chess players, and we would like to reproduce a detail of this photograph. So we would like to know if you are the author of this image? If yes, would you be ok for a reproduction on the front cover of the book by A. Ratner? Many thanks by advance for your answer. Looking forward to reading you, I am, with best wishes, Sincerely yours.
